Chengdu People’s Park 成都人民公园

Chengdu People’s Park, a comprehensive garden rich in history and cultural heritage, is located at the intersection of Citang Street and Shaocheng Road. Established in 1911 and originally named Shaocheng Park, it covers an area of 112,639 square meters.

As the first park in Sichuan Province and one of the earliest in China, it has been designated a national “AAAA” tourist attraction. The park boasts numerous cultural relics, including one national key relic and four municipal-level relics, all carrying a wealth of historical and cultural significance.

He Ming Teahouse, one of the oldest teahouses in People’s Park, has been listed as a historic building. Here, visitors can savor authentic Chengdu bowl tea and immerse themselves in the rich ambiance of old Chengdu. The teahouse is set against a picturesque lake, where guests can enjoy their tea while taking in the serene lake views, experiencing a leisurely lifestyle. The park’s corridors, courtyards, and bamboo groves are lively with people playing chess, chatting, and painting, creating vivid scenes of Chengdu’s slow-paced life.

The park also features an artificial lake where visitors can go boating, enjoying the sparkling water. Goldfish Island has become a popular spot for feeding fish, attracting many families. Additionally, the park’s paths are lined with matchmaking notices, a unique attraction for young people and tourists, showcasing Chengdu’s distinctive social culture.

These monuments not only bear witness to history but also pass on the spirit of the forebears, inspiring future generations to remember history and cherish peace.
